Teamcast - Project Manager & UX Designer

Project delivery software for operational teams

2020 - 2021 | Startup · CRM · SaaS

Overview

Overview

Teamcast is a project and client management platform for operational teams in logistics-focused firms. I joined to lead a redesign initiative aimed at improving platform usability, accelerating delivery cycles, and supporting revenue-generating features. My focus was on aligning design and engineering efforts around clearer workflows, accessible interfaces, and scalable systems - without disrupting ongoing product operations.

The Challenge

The Challenge

The platform was underperforming across both user and internal KPIs. Users struggled with navigation, core workflows were inefficient, and internal teams were slowed by inconsistent UI patterns and fragile handoffs. The product needed to evolve into a reliable B2B tool for practical, time-constrained professionals - and to do so without disrupting ongoing operations.

My Role & Focus

My Role & Focus

I led the end-to-end UX transformation as a hybrid product lead, working closely with the Head of Product and two engineering squads. My work focused on:

  • Planning & Prioritisation: Defined scope across key workflows, identifying quick wins and longer-term structural changes.

  • Delivery Alignment: Embedded sprint-aligned design reviews and reduced design–dev handoff delays.

  • System Design: Oversaw the creation of a modular design system to support consistent UI and faster feature rollout.

  • User-Centred Execution: Managed prototyping and direct user testing to validate critical changes.

Process & Execution

Process & Execution

To improve both user and delivery outcomes, I structured the project into phased, insight-led delivery:

  • Workflow Audit: Mapped and prioritised user flows across project setup, document uploads, and billing.

  • Insight Loop: Worked with internal and external users to surface high-friction UX issues.

  • User Testing: Delivered WCAG-compliant, high-fidelity prototypes for direct validation with users.

  • System Design: Built and launched a, reusable component system to speed up engineering cycles.

  • Agile Integration: Introduced sprint-synced design checkpoints, reducing rework and cutting handoff delays by two weeks.

Enabled a new revenue stream through invoice automation

Improved usability scores and internal dev velocity

Reflections

Reflections

This project sharpened my ability to balance strategic UX leadership with structured, iterative delivery. It reinforced the value of systems thinking, tight product–engineering loops, and fast, feedback-driven execution, especially in high-stakes, operations-led environments.

Tools & Methods

Tools & Methods

Some of the tools and methods I relied on to design and deliver for this role

Figma – Delivered design system with a full UX overhaul across product suite.

Miro - Facilitated early product mapping and aligned teams around feature workflows.

Storybook – Documented and enforced design–dev consistency on components.

Linear - Prioritised feature work and tracked sprint outcomes.

Slack – Enabled async design–engineering feedback and supported hybrid team rituals.

Loom – Shared async walkthroughs to imrpove stakeholder alignment and reduce meeting load.
